We would like to pay tribute to Marti Kheel who sadly passed away
on Saturday 19th November 2011. Marti was an important figure in the history of ecofeminism,
and one of the founders of the group 'Feminists for Animal Rights'. A collective tribute written by

Message to COP15 from www.ecofem.org

The challenge of climate change cannot be met without the following:

1) A fundmental re-evaluation of the moral value of the nonhuman.
2) A thorough appreciation of the intersection between environmental
sustainability and the operation of class, gender and international relations.
3) A radical beneficial revision of Western patterns of consumption.

Reliance on the market and technological innovation will not tackle anthropocentric greenhouse gases.
Climate change represents an opportunity to ameliorate militaristic, capitalist and environmental crime,
and to re-define our understandings of development, sustainability, progress, flourishing and species interdependency.
